Crackberry

This is something I’ve noticed before, but it really got confirmed on my most recent flight over to the US; Blackberry (or Crackberry) has manage to create total addiction among it’s users. About 15 minutes before touchdown, the american Blackberry user across the aisle picked up the his phone and just sat there, phone in hand, waiting for the moment that he could turn it on. Seconds after touchdown, long before the purser announced that phones could be turned on after going through customs, he was checking his email.

The same thing on the connecting domestic US flight. One guy close to me sat with this Blackberry in his hands the whole flight (about 3 hours). Seconds after touchdown, I could see no less than four Blackberry users tapping away on their devices. However, all iPhones and other devices seemed to be turned on when the plane was getting closer to the gate.

How has Blackberry manage to create this kind of total addiction, where the suit-wearing middle aged men are more eager to check their work email than college students checking their facebook?

Mm…

Mm…

But not for long!

And now, a bit of history…

This is to my knowledge the oldest (preserved) blog post ever being published from a SEMC phone. Interesting? Nah, not really, but still…
